Welcome to Clave Latina Festival
The First International Cultural Festival of Latin Music & Dance

Back for its 2nd installment with an even bigger event this year in both London and Brighton. Clave Latin Festival welcomes International guests from the US, Latin America and Europe with our Festival's Guest of Honor Mr Izzy Sanabria (New York), journalist, actor and graphic designer/artist (Fania Records), Jose Mangual Jr 'El Campanero Mayor' (New York) and Jhon Vasquez & Yudi Aguilar   (Cali, Colombia) six times World Salsa Dance Champions.

The launch at Conway Hall will incorporate the 1st UK Festival de Orquestas event in partnership with Salsateca, celebrating 20 years of teaching Salsa in the UK and bringing together 5 top London Latin Bands for the first time on one stage. This will be a day for the family with Children's Dance/Music Workshops, Lectures, an Art Exhibition and something for Latin vinyl record collectors. During the week we will continue with Films and Lectures at other venues including SOAS University (London) and Greenwich Picturehouse (London) from International guests/artists who have helped to shape the world of Latin Music that we know and love today, before heading down to Brighton for the Brighton Salsa Festival on 29th June for a Weekend of  Latin culture and Salsa by the sea..full programme.

Clave Latina Festival aims to highlight and promote the rich cultural, artistic and historical aspects of the Salsa genre looking at its development both in London and New York whilst paying homage to four great artists who were instrumental in the development of the Salsa movement – recently deceased artist Jimmy Sabater from ‘Son Boricua’ fame, Celia Cruz , Edmundo Ros and Hector Lavoe. We have a line up of well-recognised international guests as well as some of London’s top teachers, Latin DJs and Musicians to make this a Festival to remember.

'For the last 100 years our popular idioms have brought joy and happiness to millions of souls around the world, such is our power; long live our Latin traditions!'
